API key authentication and token security
Learn how to generate, manage, and revoke API keys, set appropriate headers, and protect credentials.
Summary: Authenticate REST API requests using the X-Api-Key HTTP header. API keys identify your workspace securely.
Generating an API key
- Navigate to API keys in the sidebar.
- Click Create API key.
- Enter a description (e.g. Production Error Reporting).
- Copy your secret key immediately (it is only shown once).

Each API key receives 120 requests per minute. Exceeding the rate limit returns an HTTP 429 Too Many Requests status code with a Retry-After header.
