Summary: Projects group issues and determine ticket keys (e.g. ENG-101). They also hold project-specific hourly billing rates and customer intake settings.

How to create a project

  1. In the sidebar, click Projects, then click New project.
  2. Enter the Project Name (e.g. Mobile App Redesign).
  3. Specify the Project Key: 2 to 4 uppercase characters (e.g. MOB).
  4. (Optional) Assign a Client Name and an Hourly Rate for time billing.
  5. Click Create project.

Choosing a good project key

The project key becomes the prefix for every task (e.g. MOB-1, MOB-2). Choose short, memorable prefixes that team members can easily reference in commit messages or chat (e.g. API, WEB, OPS).

Project billing settings

If work on this project is billed to a client, enter an hourly rate (e.g. $150.00). When team members log time against tickets in this project, those hours automatically calculate into client invoices.
